A Quick Stop at Peyto Lake: Worth Every Second

Peyto Lake stands out for its turquoise color and unique wolf-head shape. Located along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, this glacier-fed lake gives you an unreal panoramic view from the easy-to-reach Bow Summit overlook. While it’s a common stop for quick photos, the trails here doesn’t get as much foot traffic as some of the other big-name spots in Banff.

Its a short walk from the parking lot to the overlook section.

We explored the overlook trail a little.

We headed to another overlook area and able to get a photo of this beautiful lake at a different angle.

Peyto Lake is a must-stop for its incredible photo opportunities. We were short on time, so we didn’t get to really explore, but I would’ve loved to hike down to the shoreline and take it all in up close. Maybe next time!
