After reading the book Born to Run, I decided I was going to make my own Huaraches. In this post, I’ll walk you through how to craft your own custom-fit huaraches that are lightweight and includes the satisfaction of doing them yourself (DIY).
Here is the raw material, two pieces of rubber and rope.

The bottom piece is the top of the sole, while the top rubber piece is the bottom of the soul. As you can see on the bottom rubber pieces, I traced out my footprint, which I will cover more in the next step.

You will want to trace your footprint onto a piece of paper, then cut that out to trace onto the rubber piece, you will want to use a pen or permanent marker.

My first try at tying my new huaraches.

Found a video online that provides a slip on/off method, going to try this out for my first run.
