Background on myself
I have been building and upgrading computers since the early 2000’s with my first computer I built was a Pentium III with dual processors while I was in college. Since then the technology has evolved but many of the concepts are the same. Earlier this year built my computer earlier this year and enjoy doing the research and parts selection to find the best balance between cost and performance.
Introduction
Understanding that everyone has difference requirements and budgets, I wanted to put together a recommendation list of the best computers in a couple of different price points. Please note that prices on computer components changes all the time so they may be different then the time of this posting. Also consider I am not including any operating system, keyboard, mouse, or monitor cost in the totals.
If you have not assembled a computer before recommend doing some research and watch some youtube video related to assembly before starting.

Best $1000 Computer Build
This build, coming in just over $1,000, is a solid mid-range gaming rig that can handle nearly all games with ease. It features an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a spacious 2TB SSD. For graphics, the AMD RX 7600 XT will deliver smooth performance on the latest titles at high settings.

Motherboard | ASRock B650M PG Lightning Wifi 6E | $119.99 |

Note 1: I listed the RX 7600 XT here and while its a great graphics card, you might be able to find a Nvidia RTX 4060 for similar price when its on sale and it would be a better graphics card.
Note 2: I have seen other list builds with only a 1TB hard drive/SSD to help save on cost, but highly recommend 2TB or larger if you are planning on gaming, as most games take 50 to 100GB anymore.

Summary
Building your own computer can seem intimidating or stressful at first, but hopefully this guide gives you a good starting point for pairing the right hardware. RAM and SSD storage are the components you’ll most likely want to customize based on your needs. Also, keep in mind that modern graphics cards can be quite large, so double-check that your case has enough room to fit your GPU comfortably.
I also highly recommend looking at https://pcpartpicker.com/ great website to see current prices on components, checks fit of basic things like CPU to motherboard and memory, and has just a great community.
Disclaimer: I did put in some research to select the best parts for each of these builds, and if I had infinite money I would have built these myself. Since I don’t have infinite money I was only able to spec these out based on my knowledge and past experiences. I am pretty confident in the part compatibility, however I can’t guarantee that all part selections will be perfect, since building PCs always depends on your specific setup.
